What makes The Chocolate Factory Toronto chocolates and candies so special? ( Besides the best price in Toronto)
We have been making our handcrafted confections for over 35 years using classic recipies and canymaking techniques handed down by past generations of candymakers. Cooking in copper kettles over an open flame we hand stir fresh ingredients such as cream, butter, sugar, honey, fruits and nuts together. Once cooled, each batch is hand cut and enrobed in imported Belgian Chocolate. We also make numerous seasonal confections such as Copper Kettle Fudge, Fruit Pectin Jellies, Candy Almonds, Marshmallow and Peanut & Cashew Brittles….to name a few.
As a small family owned business we take great pride in the products that we make. Over the years our customers have become our extended family and making candy and chocolate that puts a smile on their faces has always been our greatest reward.
- There are two types of bloom common to chocolate: Fat Bloom and Sugar Bloom. Fat bloom can result when chocolate is exposed to fluctuating temperatures, producing a visible dull white film at the surface. Sugar bloom is a hard white surface film resulting from exposure to moisture formed by the dissolution and subsequent crystallization of sugar on the chocolate’s surface. While fat bloom and sugar bloom affect the appearance of chocolate, the product remains perfectly safe to eat.
Chocolate Factory Toronto chocolates should be stored in a cool, dry room at temperatures between 15°C and 17°C with a humidity that is less than 50%, avoiding heat, sunlight, moisture, humidity, and ambient odors. At lower temperatures, chocolate may collect condensation which can accelerate the appearance of fat bloom. At warmer temperatures, chocolate can tend to soften and lose its gloss. Do not refrigerate as this can cause sugar bloom on the surface. If you live in a warm area and do not have air conditioning, you can place chocolate in a refrigerator by wrapping it in a dry kitchen towel to minimize humidity and odor absorption.
We use real Belgian Chocolate which we have brought in directly from Belgium.
- Extra Dark / Dairy Free (72%): A bitter-sweet chocolate with 72% cocoa solids made from West African cocoa beans aged to produce a surprisingly mellow and balanced flavor.
- Our 72% Extra Dark Chocolate does not contain any dairy or animal products (however, products may contain traces of dairy due to shared equipment).
- Dark (55.5%): A semi-sweet chocolate with 55.5% cocoa solids made from West African cocoa beans for a deliciously strong chocolate flavor.
- Milk (32.5%): A sweet chocolate made with 32.5% cocoa solids from West African and Pacific-Rim cocoa beans for an intense milk chocolate flavor.
- White (32%): A rich cocoa-butter based whole milk product with a delicate chocolate aroma and flavor.

The Chocolate Factory is building for the future and is currently seeking applications for a dedicated sales trainee 18 years of age or older. Individuals must be self motivated, have a passion for chocolate and enjoy working with the public. Previous experience working in a food related environment such as a bakery, coffee shop or chocolate shop and having a Food Handlers Certificate are definite asset as you may be brought into the kitchen during busy periods to assist with the making of some of our products.
Fluency in writing, reading and speaking English is essential as you will be answering phone calls, taking orders and responding to email inquiries. The ability to multi task is an essential part of this position.
All candidates must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays when required and have experience working with cash and POS terminals.
Production Opportunities: Non Available
The Chocolate Factory is building for the future and is currently seeking applications for dedicated trainees 18 years of age and older. Individuals must have a passion for chocolate and be self motivated to learn and work hard. Some heavy lifting is required (up to 25 kilo).
Candidates must be comfortable working in a kitchen/bakery environment and be able to perform several tasks simultaneously. Previous experience in a food related position such as a bakery, coffee shop or chocolate shop and having a Food Handlers Certificate are definite asset.
Fluency in writing, reading and speaking English is essential as you will be required to read recipes and prepare ingredients.
All candidates must be available to work Saturdays and Sundays when required.
